Amanda Seyfried wins Emmy for "The Dropout"!
(And according to Nicky, the win is well-deserved!)
Congratulations to Amanda Seyfried for winning the Emmy!
I loved working with Amanda. She’s kind, professional, prepared, dedicated, and humble. She’s always striving to improve and I so admire that. Art is a thing we are always practicing, it’s never a thing we master. Which is why it‘s so incredible when our peers and colleagues recognize a job well-done. Her performance in “The Dropout” is phenomenal — nuanced, layered, a full spectrum of human emotion, and based on a real person very much known to the general public. A huge challenge, too, given that the character needs to be interesting and human enough to become invested in her story, yet remain enigmatic and aloof enough to capture the feel of her whole… IRL reality-distortion-field-narcissistic-sociopath counterpart. It was so cool to to witness firsthand how the warm, fun, emotionally intelligent Amanda could sink into her Holmes character’s odd shell-game of fixation and dismissal. It’s what we do, as actors, and at least for me, it’s one of the funnest parts of the job: playing pretend with incredibly talented colleagues. I feel so lucky to have been part of “The Dropout,” and to work with so many amazing artists.
Also, FYI, I only noticed recently, Michael Showalter’s Emmy-nominated episode is the one I’m in! So considering he, casting, and Liz Meriwether were all the decision makers in hiring me, I don’t have to get an Emmy nod directly to feel the gratitude and joy of a nom directly… indirectly is fine with me, LOL! 😅
🖤🤎❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Cheers!
