Hello, Friends!
I am excited to announce that I am part of a multi-cast collection of short stories releasing today from Audible:
Birds of Prey: The Harlan Coben Challenge
It all started with a simple, yet sneakily difficult challenge from global best-selling author Harlan Coben: Pick a bird of prey, then use it as the inspiration for a brand-new story.
The response from some of the best writers on the planet: Game on!
The result: Eleven stories that are twisty, scary, surprising and bursting with imagination. An egg worth more than its weight in gold. A mysterious operative known only as Owl. An eagle-watcher who sees more than she should. Even a story that somehow places the Maltese Falcon in a nursing home.
Birds of Prey: The Harlan Coben Challenge is a highly bingeable audiobook that’s a treat for thriller fans.
I read the Story “Owl” by Kathy Reichs. I loved narrating this story because it gave me the opportunity to step into a storytelling space adjacent to “The X-Files.”
Fun fact: Although I credit Xena as my lord and saviour, aspiration/inspiration, and chief deity & spiritual guide, It was Mulder’s brilliant profiling and Scully’s genius science that spurred me to enter university as a psychology major.
Even funner fact: When I was confronted with the two-trimester requirement of Statistics & Probability, I realized I didn’t want to BE a criminologist/detective person as much as I wanted to PLAY one. That, and nothing is quite so humbling as Math. 😅

Cheers,
Nicky
