DOUBLE AUDIOBOOK RELEASE: Herculine & Something Close to Nothing
Trans Horror and Gay Drama
Trans Horror: HERCULINE by Grace Byron. Produced by Simon & Schuster Audio.
LGBTQ & Horror, my favorite genres! I’m always thrilled when I get to do a Queer horror project, and Herculine is Queer, it’s horror, and… it’s funny! Not a full-blown horror-comedy, mind you, but it’s got a sense of humor I really enjoyed.
HERCULINE is releasing just in time for a Halloween playlist: it’s got demons, it’s got a cult, it’s got sardonic humor, it’s got murder, it’s got spice!
Thanks to the team at Simon & Schuster Audio for this title!
Gay Drama: Something Close to Nothing by Tom Pyun. Produced by Tantor Audio.
I got to play a cis gay man in SOMETHING CLOSE TO NOTHING, and alongside one of my favorite colleagues, Daniel Henning! As a non-binary Trans artist, I absolutely love to play the full spectrum of genders — it’s one of my favorite things about narrating audiobooks. I can hop into all these different characters without needing makeup and a costume change!
SOMETHING CLOSE TO NOTHING is a story about a relationship ending, but the characters growing. It’s got drama, it’s got dance, it’s got parenthood, it’s got midlife crisis, it’s got spice!
Thanks to the team at Tantor for this title!
Cheers!
Nicky
