Hello Friends!
Q2 is always a diversity and representation focus for me: May being Asian-American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and June being LGBTQIA+ Pride Month. I’m grateful that I was able to balance both volunteer/community work with acting and narration work this busy, event-filled time of year… all while dodging COVID-19! 😅
Thanks for celebrating these wins with me! Considering the anxiety I am feeling about the state of my country (and the world), this quarterly exercise is a reminder to myself that all is not lost, and to keep telling stories that promote and showcase the beauty, strength, and advantages of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“In the mix” — a Hollywoodsy idiom that means my work made it to decision makers… which is a great thing even if I don’t end up booking the jobs. Still a win to be booking the rooms!
“Booking the room” — another Hollywoodsy idiom that means the decision people admire your work or professionalism enough to want to hire you… for something… even if you don’t get an offer to work on the particular project where they encountered your work. Also! A mantra to keep one sane in an industry that is 99% rejection. 😅
Voiceover!
More dubbing work! I love dubbing; thankful they keep inviting me to do it!
More animation VO work on Strange Planet 👽

Thank you so much for your continued support and enthusiasm.
2022 is half completed now. I had my first weekend “off” of this year at the end of May. I am very grateful to be busy with art: be it auditioning, marketing, classes, or bookings… but it’s now a great time for self-care and boundary setting. I still hope Q3 has plenty of opportunities for me, but be they many or few, big or small, I am going to take the opportunity to invest more in my health. 💖
All the best to you and take care,
🖤🤎❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Cheers!
Nicky
PS: Below are some pictures of Chicago! I love Chicago architecture. Definitely take one of those river tours about the architecture should you visit.
